Pastor Rodney Friend has a passion and love for both the ministry and music. As a Stellar Award nominee, and a three-time Grammy nominee, Rodney has worked with and written for artists such as Nicholas,  Darryl Coley, Crystal Lewis and more. He received his license to minister in 1984 and was ordained in 1985, while serving under the leadership of his father, the late Rev. K.D. Friend.  He was elected by the congregation to succeed his father and along with his wife, they have been devoted to this church for 30 years.

Rodney has been married to his lovely wife Janet Friend for 37 years, and they have two daughters Janéy and Ronéy.
